BTA GESE 4–6 Exam Masterclass (B1 – Settlement & Citizenship Track)
£395.00
Trinity College London Graded Examinations in Spoken English (GESE) — Grade 5 (CEFR Level B1). This high-velocity conversational sprint represents the direct preparation pathway for candidates securing the required language credentials for UK Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), permanent settlement, or British Citizenship. Tailored for precision phrasing and interactive dialogue control, the programme completely bypasses generic language theory to focus exclusively on passing the secure English language test (SELT).
- Tuition Only: This course is a proprietary, independent training programme. BTA is a private academy providing specialised preparation tuition; we are not an official Trinity Approved or Registered Preparation Centre, and we do not use the Trinity College London logo.
- External Exam Booking: The official GESE Grade 5 exam is not hosted or taken on-site at Challenge House.
- Your Responsibility: BTA provides the intensive training to guarantee your test-readiness, but you will need to book and sit your official exam independently at an external, approved Trinity SELT test centre.
- Navigate Exam Formats Fluently: Demonstrate an intuitive, stress-free mastery of the test sequence, timing constraints, and examiner expectations.
- Deploy Complex Sentence Architectures: Structurally introduce advanced vocabulary, varied tenses, and precise descriptive phrases during live conversational tasks.
- Execute Precise Listening Audits: Accurately identify, interpret, and rapidly synthesise verbal cues and informational prompts delivered by native speakers.
- Deliver Structured Verbal Presentations: Formulate and present coherent, logically sequenced spoken arguments on chosen topics with zero hesitation.
- Baseline Proficiency: A foundational command of spoken and written English, roughly corresponding to an intermediate or lower-intermediate operational baseline.
- Cohort Engagement: A commitment to attend all scheduled weekly live sessions and complete independent practice modules between sessions.
- Pre-Course Preparation: Complete a baseline diagnostic speaking assessment with a BTA language advisor to correctly calibrate individual learning goals before Week 1 launch.
- Week 1: The BTA Baseline Diagnostic & Calibration Matrix Undergo a proprietary 1-to-1 linguistic diagnostic assessment to map structural friction areas, isolate phonological habits, and establish a customized performance baseline for the remainder of the cohort.
- Week 2: Advanced Strategic Topic Architecture Master the selection mechanics and delivery frameworks needed to construct a highly resilient verbal presentation, learning how to command the narrative structure while avoiding common conversational traps.
- Week 3: Spontaneous Dialogue & Dynamic Listening Audits Acquire level-specific conversational functions to fluidly handle complex speech patterns. Train in advanced active listening labs designed to help you confidently prompt and guide examiners with unprompted verbal interactions.
- Week 4: The BTA Video-Assisted Lab Simulation Experience a fully simulated, timed examination under strict test-centre conditions inside our media lab. Each performance is captured on video to perform a forensic behavioural and phonetic review, completely exposing hidden filler words and alignment errors.
- Week 5: Precision Corrective Drilling & Stamina Sprints Execute targeted structural, grammar, and fluency repairs driven entirely by the data compiled from your Week 4 video audit, building the cognitive stamina required to eliminate speech hesitation.
- Week 6: Final Polish & Peak Readiness Assessment Conclude the track with a final, unrecorded boardroom testing simulation to solidify ultimate psychological readiness, master test-centre nerve management, and graduate with your verified BTA Completion Certificate.

Moving from foundational A1 conversations to the strict B1 Settlement and Citizenship track introduces a massive drop-off in pass rates. For the GESE Grade 5 exam, candidates must survive a multi-phase, 10-minute face-to-face interview under strict evaluation. They are hit with a complex double hurdle: first, they must pitch and defend a chosen Topic Phase using a pre-prepared form; second, they must handle a spontaneous Conversation Phase controlled by the examiner. Failing to accurately demonstrate mandatory intermediate grammar (such as the present perfect tense, future intentions, and expressing preferences) results in an immediate test failure instantly delaying citizenship applications and putting settlement timelines at serious risk.
Core Mission
The BTA GESE 4–6 Exam Masterclass is an elite language immersion designed exclusively for settlement and naturalisation candidates who must secure a pass with absolute certainty.
Delivered as a structured 6-week curriculum totalling 12 hours of live instruction (2 hours per week), this high-impact programme bridges the critical gap between unguided conversational English and compliant exam delivery. Rather than sitting through passive vocabulary drills, candidates actively engage in weekly Boardroom Facilitation Blocks driven by real exam frameworks. We focus heavily on the structural design of your mandatory exam topic form, the linguistic triggers required to showcase B1 grammar functions, and the advanced listening mechanics needed to control a spontaneous dialogue loop with an official examiner
